Till now ABPA has jointly organized with various organizations, more than four hundred exhibitions cum sale of books, at various small towns, since 2003. Books worth five million rupees were sold in these exhibitions. This has led to greater interaction between readers, writers from the small towns with the publishers. Even the authorship from small towns has dramatically grown as well. This activity is still going on.
Internet and shopping malls are changing the way people buy books. The publishers cannot afford to have shops in malls because they are frightfully expensive. Also, Internet is an extremely effective tool and we can use it ourselves. ABPA will very soon market books from Bengal around the globe. If ABPA gets help from all concerned at state, national and global arena, it can make Bengali books survive and grow and make them available to every possible reader around the world.
